John Woolston has built a career in the medical device and pharmaceutical
industries with a focus on business development and sterilization. He is an experienced senior executive having served
on the Board of a UK listed company and deployed both general management and technical management skills. Strengths are in
the areas of business analysis and development, and technical management with a track record of delivering successful
business development and growth
During his career he has held posts in Production and Operations Management,
Project Management, QA and Sales and Marketing. His experience includes roles with GlaxoSmithKline, Cyanamid, Avon Medicals,
Smith & Nephew and Isotron. He has authored a number of technical papers and more general articles for both scientific
journals and more popular magazines.
He is presently chairman of the Panel on Gamma and Electron Irradiation and European representative
for the International Irradiation Association. He was Programme Chairman for the International Meeting on Radiation Processing,
London, 2008 and is and Editorial Advisory Board member for Medical Device Technology.
He has a B Sc in Microbiology from Surrey University and a Ph D
in Microbial biochemistry from Southampton University. He gained an MBA from Warwick University.
